An RCS Carousel is a horizontally swipeable series of multiple Rich Cards in a single RCS message. The recipient scrolls through it like a small gallery and taps the card that interests them. That makes it ideal for product selection inside the chat.

What is an RCS Carousel?

An RCS Carousel is a horizontally swipeable series of multiple Rich Cards in a single RCS Business Messaging message. Instead of sending one card after another, the recipient sees a small gallery: swipe left and right, tap the right card, react with a button. Each card carries its own image, title, and buttons.

Use inside the chat

The carousel proves its strength whenever there is more than one option:

  • Product showcases: three or more products side by side, each with photo, price, and a "Buy" button.
  • Selection in the chat: appointments, plans, or variants to swipe through and pick directly.
  • Recommendations: curated suggestions, such as "You might also like".

This makes the carousel a natural tool for rich media commerce: the customer browses a mini-catalogue without leaving the chat and buys in the same conversation. Short example: after an enquiry, a fashion retailer sends a carousel of four jackets; the customer swipes, taps their size, and lands straight in the order flow.

Limits

A carousel does not replace an online shop. The number of cards per message is limited, and very long rows tire the reader rather than help. Display also depends on the device: on smaller screens only a slice is visible at a time, and without RCS support the gallery does not arrive at all. That is why every carousel needs a plan B for devices that can only receive classic messages.
